Thinking about the handful of games I play every day on my phone (yes, Wordle is one). Thinking back to what I used to do for relaxing mental engagement before electronic games. Yes, there was such a time. Answer: I worked logic or sudoku puzzles, which you could buy in magazines. I did pen-and paper math exercises like factoring numbers and multiplying matrices (yes, I did this to relax!). Sometimes I even played solitaire, with physical cards. Now it’s all on the phone. I suspect this isn’t a good thing.
Incidentally, the “phone” isn’t a phone, doesn’t even have a sim card. I use it purely as a tiny bedside computer.
