There’s a move to bring back lighter-than-air craft, which has been a fantasy of mine for a long time.
As the article notes, the Hindenberg disaster pretty much ended commercial lighter-than-air transport. That’s too bad. It was basically a PR problem. The disaster looked really horrifying (see photo). But of 97 people on board, there were 37 fatalities. When a passenger plane goes down, everyone dies, yet we keep using those, right?
