My wife and I have a running joke: when we come across something in scripture that we’d never seen before, even though we’d read that section many times in the past: “They changed the Bible again!” I’m sure many who read scripture regularly know the experience.
I had it most recently reading 1 Peter, in which (this time!) the Apostle clearly states a correspondence between the Great Flood and our baptism (1 Peter 3:18-22.) Seriously mind-blowing, but obviously I’d mentally glided over it many times before.
