The Red Wheel

From a review of the latest-to-be-translated volume of Solzhenitsyn’s Red Wheel epic:

Contrary to Tolstoy in War and Peace, Solzhenitsyn means to demonstrate that, at the decisive “nodal” moments of history, the action or inaction of a single individual may have a decisive impact on the course of events.

I’ve read the previous volumes. They’re hard going, but worth the work. I expect that I’ll read this one too.
